Fishing in the Area
General
Bedford and surrounding counties offer excellent small mouth bass and
trout fishing opportunities. Smallmouth Bass and Panfish are plentiful at the
Campground, Hartley Cottages, and throughout the river. The Bedford
County Tourist Bureau web-page and office has some information about
local streams. The Tourist Bureau will also mail you copy of the Juniata
River Guide which has excellent fishing information for the whole river
basin.
Licenses - Regulations - Gear

current information on regulations and licenses. Fishing licenses, bait, and
tackle can be conveniently purchased at either of two sports shops located
on US Route 30. Both are located within three miles of the campground -
These are the Archers and Anglers hunting and fishing shop and The Juniata
Trading Company.
Fish Free Days
- Every year Pennsylvania offers two fish free days where
no license is required for residents or non-residents. Check the Fish and
Boat Commission web-page for the annual fish free dates and opening days
for various fish species.
