Sit-on-top kayaks on the Juniata

CANOEING & KAYAKING

Click on planning map
Adventure Marine Canoe & Kayak is located on the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, one of Pennsylvania's official water trails. The Raystown Branch is a class I waterway, ideally suited for novices and beginners. It is slow moving with long quiet pools interrupted by interesting and easily navigated riffle-rapids.

We offer takeaway and on-site canoe and kayak rentals. We do not provide shuttle service or support river trips. We do provide published maps to assist paddlers with their own planning. Rentals include type III lifevests, paddles, and a basic briefing. We use top-quality Old Town canoes and kayaks. Our rental kayaks are easy to paddle and have large cockpit openings for added comfort. Sit-on-top and decked kayaks are available for takeaway or onsite rental.

What follows is a list of standard trips. The time indicated is the length of time it takes a beginner paddler to cover the river section in a steady, but leisurely way at normal river levels. If you take your time, or the river level is low, trips will take longer and can easily take twice the time noted. Remember to rate your group's abilities by the comfort level of the less experienced paddlers.
